She released her debut Know It All album in the same year. Cara is famous for including the themes of mental health and kindness and self-love into her music. Her music is a reflection of her own personal struggles with mental illness and insomnia. According to a Reuters' interview, she has described her album as half-tumultuous however, it is half finished. She found growth through therapy and encourages other people to seek out help when needed. Alessia Cara grew up in Toronto, Canada. Her birth date was July 11th, 1996 to parents of Italian origins. Her parents gave her a guitar when she was 10, and it ignited her love for music. She began covering the songs she loved at thirteen to show the world she was a talented musician and the confidence required to become an artist. Sweater Weather was the most well-known cover. The record label EP Entertainment EP Entertainment, noticed her and allowed her write songs.
