In the year 2015, at age 19, she debuted her first single Here. It was a huge success and was praised by critics and listeners alike. The single peaked at 19th at both Canadian Hot 100 as well as the Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone listed the song as one of top Songs of 2015. It was the same time when she debuted Know It All. Scars to Your Beautiful is one of her original five tracks that was featured in the Billboard Charts including Billboard Hot 100 from Canada and Billboard 200 for Canadian Albums Charts. This particular track was special because it was based on an interview with rapper Rap-Up, many of the listeners shared their experiences through self-doubt and discovering how to be a better person. Cara's tracks often contain positive message about mental health and how important it is to love yourself. She has been struggling with insomnia and anxiety, which affected her life. In an interview with Reuters she declared her album to be "half turbulent" and "half flawless". Her growth was aided by therapy and advises people to seek out help when needed. Alessia Cara grew up in Toronto in Canada. She was born on July 11th, 1996 to parents with Italian origins. Her first guitar was purchased by her parents when she was 10, which ignited the passion for music. In 2013, she covered some of her most loved songs on YouTube, a popular media platform. It was done to show that she had the ability and the confidence to be an artist. In fact, one of the covers Sweater Weather was able to get noticed by a record label called EP Entertainment which allowed her to create and write her tracks.
