Dua Lipa is an English musician and singer, was born in London on the 22nd of August 1995. Dua Lipa signed to Warner Bros Records after a few years of working and put out a self-titled album in 2017. The album reached 3rd place at the U.K. Albums Chart and produced eight singles which included Be the One I.D.G.A.F as well as the U.K. Number One track New Rules which peaked at 6th in the United States. Lipa received the Brit Awards for British Female solo artist and British breakout act in the year 2018. Her album was certified platinum in the world. She was born to Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa Rexha and Dukagjin Lipa. She has Bosnian roots through her grandmother. It is possible to trace her family's roots back to Peja the city of Kosovo. Two of Lipa's grandfathers were historians. Her brother is Gjin Lipa and a sister Rina. Lipa was musically influenced by her father the guitar player and lead singer of the Kosovan rock band Oda. While at home with her parents, her father would play his own compositions and songs from David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Stereophonics Stereophonics. Lipa began singing at the age of five. She attended the Sylvia Young Theater School was the first place she began to sing at the age of nine. Lipa performed If I Ain't Goin' to You from Alicia Keys, and Beautiful Christina Aguilera. Lipa has signed her first recording deal in 2014 with Warner Bros. Records. Her debut song New Love was released on August 15, 2015.
